Leaving...

I'm starting to get excited about having a new house to play with; I really want to show you guys our new home, but until we have exchanged contracts I think it would be tempting fate. All I will say is; it's the oldest house I will have ever lived in...

Having said that I have to admit that last night I had my first 'wobble', thinking about leaving Canada behind. This is where my two youngest have lived most of their lives. Max was 4 and Eva was 2 when we arrived on July 1st 2005. Eva had her best tantrums here!

As she demonstrates here...

She really wasn't happy about the one on one with Dora!

And they both started the year with ice-skating lesson...that was the only year they took ice-skating lessons! Our first snow storm, getting the kids into their snow gear, digging our way out of the drive, all things that drive me nuts about Canada, but things I will never experience again and that have been our life for the last 4 years.

The baking hot summers, barbies, walks around the pond; we have loved our summers in Unionville.

And our Jessica has grown into a young woman in her four years here. Her love of the arts has been cemented during her time here...

...we will always have fantastic memories of our Mother/Daughter trip to New York for her 16th

I have found several new loves; sewing, taking photos and blogging - all covered here:-

And my lovely, clever husband came, started a new job, conquered it and has moved on to the next.

Part of me wishes we'd spent less time flying home to England in the summers and enjoyed our limited time in our Canadian home.

Can you leave memories behind? I kind of feel like leaving this land will leave a part of us here too. Silly... isn't it? B x

edit: My apologies for some of the photo's sizing etc (they looked ok in the preview)

Moving is always bittersweet, but I don't think you leave the memories behind - quite the contrary.

Your children are beautiful.

Good luck with the move!

best of luck with the move. It's tough sometimes to leave a place behind, but you'll always have the memories, (especially since you have a blog).
I dropped by from SITS and I love it here.

Yes, you can always keep the memories, but moving always feels like you're leaving a little but of yourself behind. I'm sure you will make the most of it though!! And thankfully, you'll have lots of memories here... from blogging!!

Moving is both exciting and terrifying (and exhausting, annoying, financially draining... etc!) I know you'll be happy once you're settled in.

I have an almost identical picture of my youngest being wrestled into a picture with Dora at Wonderland ;)

Happy to find a fellow Blogger who lives fairly close. It's fun to recognize things in your pictures.

Anyhoo, I'm blog hopping - will be carrying on via someone else's comment left on your blog! Got to you via a comment left on "Lola B's".

You're invited to stop by my blog any time :)

Hope your move goes well. Over two years ago I moved from Los Angeles, CA to the Italian countryside. My son was just three month old at the time of our move.

Everything happens for a reason.

Best of luck on your move!

i have done some moving (5 states in 7 years) and with each move, i feel like i leave a small part of me behind. each place had great memories and wonderful times, but then the new place becomes home and makes it own memories.

hopefully the new house will work out!

stopping by from SITS. My hubby and I have moved three times since we were married 9 years ago. Luckily it has only been 90 miles each time. Moving has always been exciting for us, yet scary at the same time. Good Luck with your move.

This was a great goodbye to one chapter in your life! Sometimes when I make a big decision, I like to take a minute and just reflect on where I'm moving onto, a new house, new job, whatever. I wish I had written something down each time.

Love the pics of the kids with Dora. Really love that it looks like someone has your child in a chokehold to get the picture! :)
