Missing you...but having fun!

I know, its been an awfully long time. I hope you have had a lovely couple of months. I have been enjoying the summer; painting furniture, sorting the barn out and celebrating my sisters' 30th birthday with a night in London and a trip with 'The Girls' to Marbella, Spain. Just wanted you to know that all is well and that now the kids are back at school, I will be back to some kind of 'normal"! See you soon.
Hugs,

Currently...

  • Missing the sunshine of Dubai...
  • Getting used to the school run again...
  • Admiring my new Kitchen floors...pics to come
  • Drooling over my copy of Easy Elegance by Atlanta Bartlett...

....and preparing to go on my "Shabby Chic weekend". I will be learning how to distress furniture like the pros and visiting a fabulous antique fair, all in the beautiful city of Bath.

Hope you're enjoying what you're 'currently' doing.

Sun, kids a bucket and a hose...

The kids have just spent a week at home on their half term holidays. I had planned a trip to the butterfly museum and a visit to the local fun park, but we had so much fun at home we didn't get around to either. Although we seem to have returned to 'The Norm' for the UK; grey and cold, the weekend was blissful and the kids took full advantage with the hosepipe and a few buckets....

Do you think maybe Max is enjoying this a little bit too much!?

It's a good job Eva is my little 'toughie'!

Who needs to spend money going to fun parks?

Playing with food...

I'm forever telling Eva off for playing with her food. This morning she presented me with this...

...I let her off this time! Happy Monday :O)

Come for a walk in the woods...

The sun is shining,

the leaves are falling...

...come for a walk in the woods.

There are trees for hiding...

...and dogs need walking...

...and a reason to wear your new boots.

All the fun of the Fayre

One sunny Sunday in a lovely Hertfordshire village...

...lovely ladies were selling yummy cakes...

...which were devoured by little munchkins...

...and treasures were waiting around every corner...

David conquered Goliath...

...and princesses rode magical chariots...

...and they all lived happily ever after.

Family Day fun

Yesterday was 'Family Day' in Canada. A Bank Holiday weekend where you try to forget that you still have a good 2  months left of the cold and the snow and just hang with the family and have good times. So that's exactly what we did. Starting the day with some (usually contraband in our house) 'Choco-blast!' cereal. Yum.

I took the opportunity to use their sugar induced energy rush to get everyone onboard for a little housework, with a promised reward at the end. Housework done we fulfilled our promise by taking the kids out for a fun day at the amusement arcade and then dinner at Jack Astors. Poor Jess had to stay home and finish her homework, so missed out this time; you can't slack in grade 12! The kids had so much fun, it was lovely to see their happy faces when we tucked them up in bed at the end of the day. Kids asleep I set about making some hair clips to match the skirts I have already made for Eva. Here's my favourite.
We topped the day off with a full bodied glass of red and a good film (Eagle Eye: great movie) the perfect end to a really great day. I heart family Day!  B
