Happy Days...

Oh, hello! The kids and I are enjoying the Easter holidays by putting our feet up and munching on hot buttered crumpets - our favourites!

I know, I know all that butter can't be good for me or my waist line, but it's so yummy and it makes me happy, so it can't be all that bad....

....can it?

Have a deliciously happy week!

Copenhagen part 1

Well, it's been a while hasn't it?

I hope you've all been well, I have been popping in to see you all but haven't had a chance to share with you my birthday trip to Copenhagen. As soon as I got back to the UK I had to get my working head on as I had my first ever market the following Saturday, to say I was stressed would be an understatement! And, as usually happens when I don't stop to breathe, immediately after that I got sick! Anyhow, I'm back and looking forward to sharing my Scandi trip with you...

When we arrived on the Friday it was grey and wet...very much like home!

We dropped our bags at our hotel (which was gorgeous by the way) and went to explore...

finishing up in a great place for a bite to eat...

Tummies full and a bit tired we strolled back to our hotel. We had a lovely afternoon nap and then showered and got ready to paint the town red!

We headed out to a great Latin place Chris had read about in our guide book

and we'd seen on our earlier walk. We enjoyed live music, nachos and a few too many of these...

which is called a "Ginger B!tch" and we ended the night looking like this....

It was a lot of fun!

Pretty Little Things...

I really am enjoying making the little skirts and dresses that I have been creating recently for Little Bee but...

...skirts have to be sized and measured and stuff...

So, as a creative break I have been making these pretties...

...who doesn't love pink frills...

...made with love?

Oh, and I managed it; my whole week of blogging. I have to say it wasn't too bad. I actually think I became more creative and thoughtful during the process and I was expecting the opposite.

I couldn't fail to notice the lack of comments though, I tell/told myself that it wasn't about the comments. But looking back at my old posts I have to say I still can't work out the 'key' to writing a post worthy of readers' input. Some of my old posts which I would have expected to fly under the radar seem to have attracted lots of comments and others - that I really felt I'd put my life and soul into went practically unnoticed. Weird. I'd be grateful for any insight from you guys - that's got to be one way to get more comments!

Anyway, I'm pleased with my progress this past week. On the Little Bee front; I will be going to my first market next week. So, I'm busy making stock for that. It is in aid of Haiti, so helping a great cause too. I will be selling lavender bags, skirts, dresses and my new frilly pillows - it should be fun!

And this Friday is my birthday. I will be jetting off for a weekend break with my lovely hubby. I'm soooo excited, we are off to Copenhagen!

Wishing you all a fabulous week,

"It's the little things that make a house a home..."

This is something I say to my husband, and my kids almost everyday!

I am constantly on a quest to find that 'little something'.

This week is no exception...these are my new 'treasures'...

Jess and I went to the new(ish) Anthropologie which has opened up in Oxford Street, London and although I was disappointed by the prices (300 pounds for a dress is way out of my financial comfort zone) they did have a great sale section, where I found this beauty...

Originally 15 pounds each(!) I bought the last 4 for 1.59 each!!!

I love a bargain :O)

Recently I have been lamenting the fact that I don't have a birdcage to sit in my bay window (go figure) anyway, yesterday I had to pick Chris up from the station. On my way to get him he called to say he'd missed his train and would be on the next one.

No worries, the station is right round the corner from my favourite place; TK MAXX (Winners to my Canadian friends and TJ Maxx to my American buddies) so in I pop with my eye on the time I make a beeline for the home department. Low and behold there sitting on it's lonesome and priced at a magnificent 12.99 was my hearts desire...

It was love at first sight.

The last thing I have to show you is actually something I'm working on myself - although knowing my work ethic it may be a while before I get to enjoy the finished product...

Made from calico and ribbon they are very cheap- and easy to make. 2 down 3 to go...

All in all, I'd say it's been quite a successful week for 'treasure hunting'!

See you tomorrow,

Good Morning Sunshine!

Sunshine. It's been so long since my bones drank that golden elixir!

So, when I woke up this morning and saw these gorgeous glistening rays through my window I was up in a flash.

It's funny, I always complain about our bedroom. It's so small compared to our old bedroom in Canada. And the fact that we insisted on bringing our huge North American bed with us doesn't help matters...

I have this little joke that I tell when people ask what it's like going from a large Canadian home to an English cottage...I always say; " Our bedroom's so small, I can draw the curtains with my bum on my way to bed" not hugely funny, but actually very true. Although, I'm not sure if that tells you more about the size of our room or the size of my bum!!!

Anyway, I woke up this morning with the light streaming through my window and I though; how lucky I am to live here. In this house. In this life.

I love my bed, my bedroom and my big bum!

See you tomorrow,

I'm going to do it once a day...

Hi Ladies,

How have you been?

Did you have a good weekend?

We had one sick child, a night out with "The Girls" and a rained-off rugby tournament. So, all in all, quite an eventful weekend.

During the weekend I also did a lot of blog reading and decided that mine needs a bit of a shake-up.

I am a commitmentphobe (if that's actually a word) and I've always tried to avoid tying myself down - it's a wonder I ever managed to get married!

When I started blogging, I told myself that I wouldn't let it take over my life, that I would just do what I felt comfortable with and that has led to me blogging generally once a week.

On reflection, I have decided that I need a shake up. I need to say more. Get out there, stop 'hiding' behind single posts. So, for the next week I am going to blog everyday, at least once a day.

I know to some of you that may not sound particularly adventurous or challenging , but for me it will be an exercise in writing, time management and photography that I really need. So, good or bad, big or small, I am going to put it out there.

It's not about quantity over quality, it's about finding the quality in my everyday life.

See you tomorrow!
